DAYTONA BEACH, FL – Despite solid efforts from Steven Moffett, Patrick Rouzard and a fired up defense, the Daytona Beach ThunderBirds dropped a close game to the Florida Firecats 41-35.  Steven Moffett was 18 of 32 on the day for 211 yards.  He threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more.  Patrick Rouzard caught 10 passes on the day for 121 yards and two scores including a 45 yard touchdown pass from Moffett.  Chris Wallace had a solid game at quarterback for the

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – The ThunderBirds won their second game in franchise history last Thursday and on Tuesday, the team celebrated another arenafootball2 Player of the Week honor when QB Matt Bohnet was named the af2 Schutt Offensive Player of the Week.  This award recognizes the best performance by an offensive player from the previous week’s action.  Bohnet is the second ThunderBirds player to be honored in the last two weeks joining DB Jocques Richardson who won the ADT Defensive Player of the Week award last week.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – The ThunderBirds won their first game in franchise history on Sunday and on Tuesday, the team celebrated another milestone.  Jocques Richardson, a defensive back out of football powerhouse Miami Northwestern High School was awarded the arenafootball2 ADT Defensive Player of the Week.  This award recognizes the best performance by a defensive player from the previous week’s action.  Richardson is the first player in ThunderBirds history to be given a player of the week award.  Richardson had four tackles and two interceptions including a 50 yard interception return for a touchdown on the final play of the game to secure a 56-42 victory for the ThunderBirds over the Manchester Wolves.  For the season, Richardson leads the team with 20.5 tackles and three interceptions.

February 14, 2008   DELAND, FL – The Daytona Beach ThunderBirds Dance Team made an appearance at Stetson University to help “Pack the House Pink”, an event designed to raise Breast Cancer awareness. The event preceded a Women’s basketball game between the Stetson Lady Hatters and the University of South Carolina Upstate Spartans on Monday, February 11^th. The event, located at the Edmunds Center at Stetson University, was part of “Think Pink,” a partnership between the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Woman’s Basketball Coaches Association aimed to both raise awareness of beast cancer and gather monetary support to help fight the disease. ...
