THUNDERBIRDS DROP HEARTBREAKER TO FIRECATS 41-35

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – Despite solid efforts from Steven Moffett, Patrick Rouzard and a fired up defense, the Daytona Beach ThunderBirds dropped a close game to the Florida Firecats 41-35.  Steven Moffett was 18 of 32 on the day for 211 yards.  He threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more.  Patrick Rouzard caught 10 passes on the day for 121 yards and two scores including a 45 yard touchdown pass from Moffett.  Chris Wallace had a solid game at quarterback for the

Albany Conquest escapes ThunderBirds 59-49

Daytona Beach WR Patrick Rouzard had a strong game for the ThunderBirds catching 10 passes for 143 yards and two touchdowns but it was not enough as the Daytona Beach ThunderBirds dropped to  the Albany Conquest by a score of 59-49.  The ThunderBirds led 28-27 at halftime but could not hold the momentum in the second half.

ThunderBirds Win First Home Game in Franchise History by Knocking off the Albany Conquest 62-53DAYTONA BEACH, FL – Four days after winning their first game in franchise history, the ThunderBirds enjoyed another first on Thursday evening when the knocked off the Albany Conquest 62-53. Daytona Beach ThunderBirds QB Matt Bohnet passed for 290 yards and 8 touchdowns.  Daytona’s win excited the crowd of  1,500 who showed up to watch the ThunderBirds try to make it two wins in a row after knocking off the Manchester Wolves on the road last Sunday.  After opening the season with five straight losses and a coaching change after week 2, the ThunderBirds look like a new team under Head Coach Gary Compton....

THUNDERBIRDS BEAT WOLVES FOR FIRST VICTORY IN FRANCHISE HISTORY

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – ThunderBirds QB Matt Bohnet played brilliantly in his second game with the team as he passed for 303 yards and four touchdowns while running for two more scores as the Daytona Beach ThunderBirds (1-5) won its’ first game of the season and first game in franchise history 56-42 against the Manchester Wolves (1-4) at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH.  A crowd of 5,200 went home stunned as the ThunderBirds scored two touchdowns in the final 2:12 to secure the win.  This was Head Coach Gary Compton’s first win with the ThunderBirds.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – The ThunderBirds will begin broadcasting a weekly radio show at Houligans Irish Sports Pub at Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach on Monday, May 5 at 6:00 pm.  Houligans is located at 1643 US HWY 1 North.  The show will run from 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm and will be hosted by Head Coach Gary Compton and radio play-by-play announcer Frank Irizarry.  The show will broadcast live from the restaurant and be carried by official broadcast partner WROD, 1340 AM.
